Today is a bright, crisp fall day.  At lunch I drove up Lakeway (a part of town I pretty much never go to once you pass Civic Field) and got a sandwich at Davinci’s (oh, and a dozen donut holes from Lafeen’s, but whatever).  Anyway on the drive there you round this corner by the cemetary (ooh spooky for Halloween – except it was the middle of the day so it really wasn’t) and there are these trees all lined up that must have been planted at the same time because they are all the same size.  But that must have been awhile ago (like years and years) because they are all pretty big now.  Anyway – my point is – the trees were like a fall rainbow.  The went from green to yellow to orange to red all in a row.  The colors just melted from one tree into the next into the next.  And the sun was shining brightly right on them.  Beautiful.  I actually gasped a little bit.  And this from a girl who if you ask anyone who has known me for more than 6 months would tell you that I am not an outdoorsy person.
