I’m keeping on with the songs this week.  Hey, at least I’m blogging something!  So no complaining.

This song makes me happy every time I hear it on the radio.  I finally looked it up on YouTube last night (word of warning – if you just search for “bang bang song”, you get some really weird Indian rock star.  I watched for about 10 seconds and realized that the 80’s men at work themed video probably wasn’t what I was looking for.)  Anyway, much to my delight I found out that Adam Levine of Maroon 5 sings the chorus on this song.  Now I don’t feel strongly about Adam as a person one way or the other.  But, for some reason every time I hear his voice (even unknowingly) I am hooked.  So really it wasn’t that shocking of a surprise to find that he sings on this song that makes want to sing along every time I hear it.

Here is Bang Bang by K’naan featuring Adame Levine…

So apparently this is the week of me getting random songs stuck in my head.  Here’s another one I’ve enjoyed jamming out to – Bulletproof by LaRoux.  The video is a bit weird – sort of 80’s glam poppish (looks like the actual music video from YouTube won’t play on the website so we have to make so with just a picture).  And again, not something I’d usually listen to everyday.

My apologies for being such a terrible blogger.  There just hasn’t been much to tell.  And this post is definitely not chock full of interesting insights.  Instead, I bring you the song that has been stuck in my head for the past 3 days.  Well, actually just the line “What you know about me, whatcha whatcha know”.  And if you do know anything about me, you’ll realize that this isn’t the type of music I listen to on a regular basis, but somehow that line popped into my head on Monday night and I haven’t been able to get it out since.  So I looked it up on YouTube and was delighted to discover that it is a song called Lip Gloss and Lil Mama is just singing about how great her lip gloss is (unless there is some sort of coded meaning I’m too naive to catch onto).  Enjoy!

Things have been a bit rough these last 2 weeks with Grannie’s hip surgery, recovery, etc. and trying to balance that with the already overwhelmed schedule I try to maintain on a regular basis.  Emotions have been close to the surface for me.  And the thing that’s getting me through right now?

ABBA

Yep.  Especially songs like Take a Chance on Me, I Have A Dream, and most definitely Does Your Mother Know.  Oh Abba, thanks for being there in the hard times.
